Welcome
We welcome your interest in the Colonel Joseph Winston Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR). We are honored to share information with those interested in the DAR, and we continually look for opportunities to promote DAR objectives within our local community. Our members are committed to promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism. We enjoy our volunteer activities and are proud to make a difference in the lives of people in our community, state, and country.
In addition to our monthly meetings that offer speakers on a variety of subjects, our chapter and individual members are engaged in activities that include supporting our active-duty military, their families, and veterans, and promoting education by sponsoring scholarships and Crossnore Communities for Children. Our members volunteer across the community in ways that promote patriotism, historic preservation, conservation, women’s issues, genealogy, and education.
Each member is a direct descendant of a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War.
Isaac Jones is one of two DAR Patriots buried in Joppa Cemetery that we honored with grave markings.
